The choices available to consumers looking for a new smart phone got bigger today by one. The HTC One hit the shelves, and if you are an AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint customer, you might want to check this device out.
The HTC One has a 1080p high-definition screen protected behind gorilla glass and plenty of power under the hood to drive your Android apps and videos. It runs on a Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.7Ghz processor, has 2gb of DDR2 ram and is available with 32 or 64 gigs of storage. It has front and back 1080p high-definition cameras, the battery life is decent at 2300 mA hours and the whole thing comes sharply packaged in a zero-gap aluminum case. All that puts it basically on par with the other choices you will find on the market.
Where it stands out is in two areas. The back-facing camera is what HTC is calling an, “UltraPixel Camera” that captures 300 percent more light on larger pixels delivering the resolution you would expect from a 13-megapixel camera. The sound on the HTC One is also cool, billed as, “BoomSound” it is delivered through dual amplifier-driven front speakers for a better stereo experience. Combine that with the amazing screen resolution and you’ve got a decent, portable entertainment system.
The HTC One is available now and comes in silver or black with red on the way. It’s an entrainment device you can also make calls on putting a new spin on the smartphone market.
