I hate losing it, whatever, “it” is. Car keys, a wallet, my backpack. It is not that I am forgetful; sometimes all of us have looked around the room and wondered where we left an item. Button TrackR, coming later this year, is going to end the hide-and-seek game for losing, “it”.
Button TrackR is a small bi-directional finder device that can affix to most items and is about the size of a quarter. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology and when combined with their TrackR app, can locate your lost items within 100 feet. Button TrackR helps you find your lost item by using the app to make the item locator sound off, by recording where you last left the item and by using crowd sourcing so that anyone with the TrackR app within range of your lost item will report the geo-location. If you lose your phone, press the button on any Button TrackR and it will make your phone ring even if the phone is in silent mode. The app will also send you an alert if you are about to leave an item behind preventing loss of the item.
Button TrackR runs off a small coin battery, which will last about a year. The app has the ability to track up to ten items, even other locator products and can be downloaded free on the Apple Store or on Google Play.
