Get a Mobile Alert from Postybell when the Mail ArrivesIt is a disappointing feeling when you take the time to walk all the way down to your mailbox, only to open it and find the daily delivery has not yet arrived. Postybell will save you a trip, and some time, letting you know when there is mail in your mailbox.

Postybell is a small motion detection package placed in the postal box that alerts the owner when the door opens indicating a delivery. It uses the Global System for Mobile Communications, or GSM standard and a smartphone application that can track multiple units in different boxes anywhere. Up to five different smartphone users can monitor each Postybell so the entire family will know when the mail has arrived. The unit is powered by a micro-USB rechargeable lithium-polymer battery giving each Postybell a two-to-three month life before needing a recharge.

Postybell has applications beyond monitoring just a mailbox; it will alert anytime a container with a door is opened making it a perfect watchdog for lockers, milk boxes or maybe that office desk drawer that has all the munchies in it. Postybell is currently seeking funds through Indiegogo with units going for as low as just forty bucks and is targeting a late 2014 release.
