If glasses make you look smarter, just imagine how you will look wearing smart glasses. The ION Glasses smart frame give the wearer fashionable geek chic interaction with their mobile devices.
ION Glasses is a smart frame that use a simple two-button control system and a multi-color LED to interact with your smartphone or tablet. The controller is located in the right arm of the frame and communicates wirelessly through Bluetooth with the wearer’s smart device. The buttons are programmed through the ION app to control phone functions like the camera, music selection or other remote tasks. From the app, the user can also bind colors to notifications they get on their phone like texts, events or emails and the LED inside the frame will privately alert the wearer they have a notification. The frames can also be set to alert the user if they move away from their phone preventing a lost device and the app will also point the user to misplaced ION Glasses.
ION Glasses can be fitted with prescription lenses or if you are lucky enough to not need a prescription, as a pair of sunglasses or just as an accessory. The battery in the frame will last between three to ten days depending on usage and can be recharged through a micro-USB connection. ION Glasses will hit the street early in 2014 with a retail price of 129 bucks; you can grab a pair early for a discount by checking out their Indiegogo campaign.
