My couch potato days might just be over with Dish’s Hopper with Sling DVR. That’s right, a DVR!
Let’s rewind… What made the Hopper so popular is its ability to automatically skip or, “hop” commercials on pre-recorded shows instantaneously. No fast-forwarding at all. Combine the Hopper system with its companion system, the Joey, and you can enjoy your pre-recorded content in up to three different rooms of your home. Nothing groundbreaking here until you introduce the Sling technology.
The new Hopper with Sling lets you can transfer your content to your iPad through an app and watch it wherever you want; meaning you can now take your shows with you from your DVR. Watch them in the park, in the car or on a plane, anywhere and without an internet connection. The Hopper with Sling has a massive 2 terabyte hard drive, the largest in the industry. That’s plenty of room, enough for 2,000 hours of standard definition television or 500 hours of high-def recording.
CNET thought it was pretty awesome too, The Hopper with Sling co-won this year’s International CES Best of Show.
